Last Week's Book Table High Lights
( 7 / 26 - 7 / 31 )

"… and especially after 9/11, I saw that our culture was being subsumed by a complacency rooted in fear. I thought that all this great music was being put on the shelf of history and wasn't going to make it going forward. I partially wrote the book in response to these developments and to express how I personally felt about our musical heritage, experientially, at the end of the 20th century as we segued into the 21st."
